You will want to use an epoxy resin. Some products specify better adherence to plastic, some to metal. JB Weld is a good all-purpose epoxy. I imagine plumber's epoxy will work also. Usually the epoxy

Good point. Some epoxies have metal filler. And come to think of it you might want to stay away from the grey colored plumber epoxies for plugging iron pipes--those have steel filings! AR ___________
