4 years milking the Orion I for everything it's worth and 1.372/1.373b5 is the way to go. Besides the cleaner rx audio (AGC?), v1 doesn't suffer from subrx dsp filter blowby that v2 is plagued with.

Denny, I'm actually quite happy with my 1.373b5 O1. My only real issue with the O1 is the subreceiver and that's identical in the O2. So the O1 is the bargain as far as I'm concerned. 73, Barry N1EU

I think in such a situation, no matter what radio you use, you're going to need high pass/BCB filters on the feedlines of any low band antennas used on receive to filter out everything below 1.8Mhz.
