I am fortunate enough(except during really high tides) to live on a salt water canal. If I dig down about 18 inches I hit water. Yes my verticals with the bases down about 5 ft, hear and radiate well

I would imagine it is tough to align one bolt by itself. With two you hold the alignment with a tool, and slip the bolt in the second hole. Then the other bolt is already more closely aligned. Bill W

My HF2V and Butternut 6 BTV are both attached to metal posts at my sea wall. Both posts go into the salt water. They work at 1:1 SWR with no radials. I do have some in the water but always wonder why
