Some of the best hf amplifiers were built by Viewstar. They had 3 different models with the small one PT-1000 using a single 3-500Z, then the PT-2500 which had a pair of 3-500Z and the very rare one

That almost sounds like a dc relay trying to operate with ac source or with too much ripple on dc supply or maybe the voltage on that source has deteriated and is way too low. Fern __________________

Andy: Are the filaments on the 2 tubes in series or parallel? If they are in parallel, you likely have just lost the filament on the one tube and the filament transformer is likely all ok. Fern _____
