With TenTec, you should stay with a 229-series or a 238. Mine have a huge range and tune most antennas. I love both. Other than that, my best tuner is a Palstar AT5K, but that's definitely overkill.

My 705 microphone manual shows pin 4 as Plus Electret Voltage (7 to 14) VDC). My Omni VI+ manuas shows the transciever supplying +4 volts to the mic, although no-load measurement at the mic connector
