I wonder how well the efficiency of the more recent balanced tuners compare with a link coupled transmatch. I am using a pair of Johnson Matchboxes...the 275 watt versions....to feed a pair of loops.

Have the same here and usually a ground loop or rf feedback of some kind. Try feeding the rig to a dummy load and see what happens. Also, max power out reading via the Pegs interface is not all that
