Hmmm...might give that a try... One of my future projects is to incorporate a neck loop (an inductive amplified loop one wears around the neck) that is made to be used by tele coils in hearing aids.

Easiest way for me to rework a 229 tuner.. Take off top cover. Take off the 4 screws holding the roller inductor and main tuning capacitor (bread slicer to us old timers) to the bottom of the chassis

I have a horizital loop up about 30' that has about 240' of wire in roughly a trapazoid shape....have found that by using a certain length of 600 ohm feeders with a 4 to 1 balun, I have swr below 3.5

I used a MFJ ant analyzer to cut the 600 ohm feeders to length...with analyzer at baluns input. This might be a little more revelant... SWR w/o TT 238A transmatch..in shack..with MFJ-259B ant analyze

I do have a revamped Johnson Matchbox transmatch....Pat Buler until he bacame a silent key would take the old Matchboxes, recase them and add additional taps....but it is very sharp in tuning on 80 m

I moved the balun into the shack....when we did some remodeling, I ran 450 ohm ladder line to the shack inside the walls...would of ran 600 ohm feeders, but the 450 ohm was much easier to live with..

Right....currently am using a pair of high value resistors to drain static to ground (8 ft ground rod BTW) and to ensure some semblance of ground potential. Will wind or buy a pair of hi mu inductors
