41. [TowerTalk] 160m vertical feed point impedance? (score: 1)
Author: "John" <fraz1@bellsouth.net>
Date: Tue, 28 Dec 2010 10:29:57 -0600
I'm using an Autek RF-1 to attempt to measure ballpark impedance at the antenna feed point. The antenna is a coil loaded (50' level) 75' vertical, with 34 radials. I read 116 ohms, which I question!

Hi Tony..... If you can only do one, I'd take the easiest method to install. But, if you can do either, why not do both? John W4II _______________________________________________ ____________________

43. [TowerTalk] Inverted Vee (score: 1)
Author: "John F." <fraz1@bellsouth.net>

Roger..... As you know, an inverted vee for a given freq is a balanced antenna with essentially equal current and voltage on both legs. Grounding one leg at or near the feedpoint will destroy that ba

Anyone have real-world experience with phased verticals on 40m? Actual comparisons to high dipole, etc would be greatly appreciated. Bottom line...was it worth the effort? 73 John W4II ______________

I have read Tom W8JI and Jim K9YC "tutorials" on this issue. I have confirmed that when the immediate neighbor turns off his Samsung Plasma set the "noise" ceases. Today, I provided six 2 1/4 inch mi

Jim.... I noted the "simple" vertical half-wave dipole configuration on your site. Is this the type used in your test? Also, do you feel the choking is sufficient to "eliminate" the rest of the feed-
