Oh yes, the rig is an AC model and the 500Hz filter is fitted as standard, when I bought the rig I didn`t realise the optional 2k and 250Hz filters were installed, I found them when I took the cards

I had the same fault on my FT990, my fault was a dry joint on the +5V regulator which sent 10V around all the boards. apparenty this shouldn`t do much damage but the -5V regulator couldn`t take it an
