Perhaps this is the least understood concept in amateur radio. Where is the ground rod field in an aircraft. Do they have a big pile of dirt with ground rods and buss bars tied to it. Does NASA launc

OK one more time..It is as simple as this...A balanced antenna up more than 1/4 wavelength "sees" infinite impedance to ground, So to save your copper braid etc put your antenna up 1/4 wavelength and

Why doesn't the AL-1500 from Ameritron get the credit it deserves. You can get QSK, the amp does 2500 watts (dummy load of course), covers 160, and uses the magnificent 8877. All of Ameritron amps ar

I do not see why TenTec needs another amp in their product line.   Tooling up for a low volume high power amp would seem like a waste of limited corporate resources.  While their amps have been good,

There are tons of "loss vs swr" programs  for different types of coax, just search the net.  I have a Zerofive 43 foot antenna.  On 75 the SWR is <3.0:1.  On 160 it is <4.5:1.  Check the programs usi

You are just moving the match losses out to the $250.00 box at the antenna.  You are reducing the SWR losses in the coax.  So for maybe 1/2 DB coax loss you can spend the $250.00.  It does not make t
