When the Macintosh came out it had no fan. Several third party clip on fans were sold, but the best option was an ultrasonic "butterfly fan" that went inside. Possibly you could find a similar one. A

Also don't forget the Azden FM HTs. They had 10m and 6m while most people were just trying 2m. While 6m is VHF, I've been able to hear repeaters in the US during the sunspot peak with just the whip.
