I keep autosave set to 300 and the autosave alert set to 301. That way you should never see an alert. If you do, something has gone wrong. WL saves every single QSO since the last manual save or auto

I have that setup. No, you cannot do rig control and keying over the same RS232 line. The only rig that will do that, to my knowledge, is the K3. I still key out of LPT1 with a transistor level shift
