It a surface mount chip .......You will need special soldering equipment to change...You could call Yaesu & ask if you could ship just the control board out to them .....they could change it and send

The power supply in the original 1000MP was a switcher made by Futaba for Yaesu and was the same as the one used in the FT-990. I believe the Field also use's a switching supplytoo.There is just no r
