I've found that my Scout will change frequency if I touch the earphone plug. Just a slight bump on the plug is enough to shift the rig's frequency. This topic was discussed on the list a while back -

Rod: I've been using my Scout at minimum power for the past 2 months -- I've had no problem with the keying. People seem to hear me -- got 36 states and 9 DXCC countries including Latvia and Moldova.
