All prefills are evil. If you mis-type an exchange your software will prefill your mistake, time after time. You must catch it on the fly and correct it. Then go back and find where you mis-typed it.

Nobody knows about current log-checking, ARRL, CQ, or anybody else's. But it seems to work well and the contest results get out a lot quicker than in The Ancient Days (exception: Florida QSO Party).
