We've used 1 km of coax to feed a remote Beverage (3 wavelength, 60 degrees, for VK and far east). 750m of the coax is RG6U, with copper braid. The results were poor, despite a 10dB head amplifier at

I'd support Guy Olinger's K2AV comments re coax quality. I bought a copper braid CCS "satellite cable" variant of RG6U from ebay that looked fine and would probably have worked fine for short runs fo

The way I looked at it was that the equivalent diameter would be a bit less than twice the diameter of the wires plus the spacing. According to the Mil Spec for WD-1A/TT is 0.84mm diameter per conduc
