Frank, I suggest you look for an Cushcraft R7. It has the traditional sleeve traps which make it relatively narrow...It does want short radial extenstions at the bottom but they will scare the birds

I have a TenTec 1553 keyer and cannot find the circuit diagram/instruction sheet. The (speed?) pot has broken off and it continually keys and generates tone, a byproduct of the broken pot I suspect.
