More data on this problem. I can turn the computer off and have the serial port dis-connected from the Rascal and the keying problem remains. If I unplug the cable from the Rascal going to the FT1000

Dick and All, Plugging just the cable into the RTTY port on the back of the rig results in no action... but plug the other end into the Rascal and into transmit mode we go. So I assume that the cable

Tom, yes I checked the rig end of the cable with it plugged into the Rascal and it does show a short between gnd and PTT. So appears that the Rascal itself is defective. My Luck! Guess I will see wha

in Writelog a macro with %O in it resets the RX CLAR back to zero so that you don't have to manually do it every time which is what I do now so I wonder does it work with Yaesu? tnx Cort K4WI _______

my 2 cents: I use writelog/mtty and a 2/3 size wireless keyboard with a built in track ball. I never have to take my hand off the keyboard except to tune the receiver and that probably could be done
