For your Alpha 78, you might see what choke Dick Byrd uses in his Alpha 76/78 conversions. I have a 76PA that works fine on all bands. I haven't used it on 30 meters, but did try it into a dummy load

Even printer paper works. K5FUV Start with something non-abrasive like a piece of cardstock.  First run it through dry, then take another clean piece of the same with a drop of IPA or contact cleaner

Mine are regular Allen screws in my MLA2500. Allen and Bristol wrenches not the same thing. I just use a regular old set of all sizes in one folding case. Bristol wrenches are used on old Collins equ

This is true. Tube amps and vinyl do sound better. Also, Tube guitar amplifiers sound better, and a Hammond B3 sounds better than an XK-3 (but it's hundreds of pounds heavier). K5FUV 73 - Mark N5OT _
