I've used the Yamaha CM500 for a couple of years now with my Orion II. I use the bias at the level provided by the Orion. H/W Mic Gain is set to 0.0 dB and a mic gain setting of 13 works just fine. N

Final update on this question: I got the problem fixed. When all is well, the resting plate current should be zero or nearly so with no excitation. Whether in QSK or PTT/Vox mode, standby or operate,

Allen - thought I'd bring you up to date on the metering issue here. I have it all worked out and the meters are now reading as they should. First, the 2.2 VDC was correct for the Ig metering as well
