I used my Omni V.9 extensively with Writelog using a standard serial cable. Only pins 2, 3, and common on a DB9 are needed for computer control. I used pin 4 and common to send CW. Worked VERY well.

I bought a 599zx to use with my Omni V. I also tried it with a TS850. I was generally disappointed with the result with both radios, and sold it. My observations are pretty much in line with Jerry's.

NO! It all comes down to how the 240V appliance uses power. Certainly 240V for the heating element, so that's two hots and a ground. It's easy to make a motor that runs on 240V, so no neutral would b

The problem is that such a connection DEGRADES SAFETY. That's why the code was changed! AND such a connection creates a magnetic field that can cause hum in electronic systems. 73, Jim K9YC _________

That's pretty much true of all modern amps and modern transceivers. You adjust the power output control of your transceiver (in this case, the Omni VI) to get the "right" power out of your amp. With
