I agree that wider spacing between SSB signals is generally better. And 5 kHz spacing is plenty. When the band gets busy, either from lots of activity, or from SW BC stations in the case of 40 meters

Well I must admit that I believe there is a place for wideband voice modes, either SSB, DSB or AM on the HF bands. I would hope that people who modify their radios to operate this way don't use them
