I am in the same position as you and I am starting to think Rohn 55 as I want to be able to handle 100mph. Another option is to bolt 2 tower sections together but I haven't seen any data for this app

That is exactly what I did. I found a good source of MOV's for around 50 cents each and stuck some 0.1uF 250V caps across them for RF decoupling. In fact I built it all into my antenna grounding box.
