David, The Ten-Tec web site we've been talking about is the company's own site, www.tentec.com, with product specs and on-line store. This mailing list is for open discussion, mostly among TT users,

The only reason, seems to me, is that on 240 V, you will draw half the current, and you will experience less voltage droop and I2R power loss. This may give you a little extra power on peaks and a li

Funny -- up here in the blue states, we're billed by the kilowatt-hour. 10 amps at 240 V cost the same as 20 amps at 120 V. I don't think they're smart enough to charge for unbalanced current in the

Bernard, The schematics say we've got a Freescale/Motorola 68EZ328 "Dragonball" processor that claims a mighty 2.7 MIPS (about 1000x less than new PCs!). There are newer versions available up to abou

Has anyone read "The Mythical Man-Month" (Brooks, 1975)? Beware the "second system effect". It's where you finally throw out your hastily done first generation design and do it "the way it should hav

What would you do with faster DSP parts? You could increase the 3rd IF passband or provide more exotic filtering. I'm not sure it would make a big difference for most people. Providing a dedicated DS

Design is a lot easier if you can guarantee the processor always has scheduling headroom, enough RAM, etc. Speed is no substitute for correct logic, of course. 73, Martin AA6E _______________________
