Hi Jeff, That is what I said when the discussion came up before. What is the purpose of saying the check is the last 2 digits of the year first licensed, if they don't intend on enforcing it? Why not

Given that most contesters are used to copying 599 or 5nn in the exchange, would it be ok to use 599 as the serial number for every QSO, as long as my log showed that it was the SN sent for each QSO?

Remember too that the MUF is defined as the highest frequency that is open 50% of the days. That means half the time it won't be open, and the CQWW probably just fell in that other 50%. 73s John AA5J
