- I found this out myself today in the RSGB Low Power contest. The internal keyer works fine until ask the PC to do something else, in my case, opening acrobat reader to read the manual. Still waiting

- Jim, I've not tried that method of keying via the serial port. I did use the parallel port which was OK most of the time, unlesss I asked the computer to do some other task. That wan under Win98. Sin

- This is a common problem with Windows. You should be able to re-assign a lower COM port number to a USB/serial as long as it isn't currently being used by another device. Find the COM port in Device

- I've run SD in a Parallels virtual machine including the USB-serial converters. The virtual machine will allow you to install windows drivers for the USB-serial devices even if OSX doesn't support it
