Occasionally I see 2-element quads that have 2 round metal hoops located on the boom between the two elements. These hoops are usually oriented at right angles to each other. What are these hoops?? O

Does anyone understand how the GAP verticals work? I've got a GAP Titan and I think I understand how the phasing rods bring it into resonance for each of the bands. But their so-called "counterpoise"
