Orion uses the same 4 FET mixer as Yaesu FT1K. It is followed by fixed gain Norton amplifier (FGA), two 9 MHz crystals, NB, standard selectable filters 1 - 15 kHz, FGA, optional 250 or 500 Hz filters

Real world experience is expressed at www.eham.net in numbers AGAIN and almost all rigs are in top 4-5 class! Radio test in dB numbers is quite complex and some expertise is needed to interpret them

Huge horizontal RX loop might be a good aproximation for a very strong BCI in the unique cases of excellent low bands propagation. Funkamateur tests leave a lot to be desired. I'd preffer G3SJX in RS
