I like the idea, but I have some reservations. A short contest means we have to concentrate on maximizing our rates, while a longer one requires that we also dig out all those weak multipliers, etc.

There's no excuse for launching a CQ without checking. Of course, a single QRL? may not be enough, as the station using the frequency may be listening a bit off, etc. I suggest the first couple calls
