201. Re: [TowerTalk] Rotor loop coax (score: 1)

Had some noise generated on 160M during a breeze. I am shunt feeding the tower. Used a 1.5" tinned braided strap attached to the mast right below the top plate of the tower and clamped to a tower leg

I have a wire 80M 4-sq with elevated radials using a Comtek box. It works well and has a nice pattern. I also use it on 60M with a good SWR and some F/B. 100W in gives me 35W dumped power. What would

Hi Stan, Tnx for the feedback. For now I will leave well enough alone. The dummy load gets just a little warm. Seems like a sloping dipole for 60M on each side of the tower would be worthwhile. But I

John, Any issues with tight winding RG-302 around a 2.4" core compared to RG179 since the RG302 is a solid center conductor? N2TK, Tony I think RG-302/U would be a better 75 ohm PTFE coax choice. Joh

For an 80M 4-sq how much loss difference is there between RG179 and RG302 per choke? I wouldn't think you could tell the difference, correct? I already have the RG-179. N2TK, Tony That's a judgement

Thanks. Not enough difference to worry about. Tony About 0.05 dB. It only matters for differential mode dissipation -- the RG179 choke MUST be exposed to air, while the RG302 choke could be in a clos

Someone had sent me an email about the problems of trimming and preparing RG179. I lost that email. Could that person resend the email please? I have several chokes to make with RG179. One end crimpe

Jim, Tnx for the info. I plan on using Amphenol #222114-10 female F-connectors in a 4x4 Carlon box. The other end goes to a relay in the box where switch in a coil for minimum dumped power at 3775 an

The prop pitch will turn a house. But they can be loud. Some reduce the voltage so they dont scream. Use rubber gaskets for isolation based on my experience. Nothing stronger than a prop pitch. Now u
