I have a HB 4-1000 amp, GG, 6 kv on the anode, tuned input, PI output. Output (and input) is awesome on 40m, but I cant get the same steam on 80m. I realize that efficiency can be variable from band

I have searched google for details on the diferances between the 4pr-1000b (pulse tube) and the basic 4-1000a and have found limited information. My HB 4-1000 amp, GG with 6Kv anode voltage performs

The short summary from my inquiry is that the 4PR-1000 is essentially the same device as the 4-1000 except it can survive higher plate voltages because it used in that type of service. HF Ham perform
