It is probably stored in the profile. Look at USERPARA.INI in the MMTTY directory. For example, the second line of the STANDARD RTTY profile is AFC=1 ... change it to AFC=0 and AFC will not activate

This is not a microHAM issue ... it is a Winkey matter. WinKey uses the pipe '|' character and not the ^ character. WriteLog's ^ character is a one dot space ... the WinKey | character is a one half
