- Pete, The blower noise is not objectionable at all. Its slightly louder then a desktop computer, very quite for a 2KW + amp. I did manage to get the blower to kick up to medium speed but that was not

- Paul, the vacuum relay in the current 8410's is very quite. I made a quick video of the amp last night, not the best, but its fun to watch anyway. If you turn up the volume you can just hear the amp

- I owned a Henry 5K Classic X with a pair of 8877's. Bought it new from Henry in 2000. Very good amp but when pushed the tuned input plate choke would start to scream. It was a great 3800-4000 watt am

- For what its worth. The most grid current I have ever seen out of my 8410, even when testing its limits, has been less then 1mA. In the serial data string the grid current is read in tenths of a mA.

- You could test the accuracy of the IR gun method if you have a spare tube. Put the spare tube and some other control material in the oven at say 300 deg for a half hour and check it with the IR gun.
