Hey Guys, Look at the grid circuit of the Collins carefully, and look at a few things. The theory presented (Orr also presents the same theory in his "Super Cathode Driven" circuit article) is that t

At Heath and at Ameritron, Orr applied pressure to use the 220 pF caps from the grid to ground. The reason does not really matter, the fact the caps are there is the only important thing. So while y

I have a 30L1 question... maybe Tom or Carl can help. I have a Round Emblem model. I was told that the RF cable used to connect the Xmiter (KWM2 etc) to the input of the 30L1 was of critical length.

Hi Pete, used to connect Your problem illustrates my point about the grid system in the 30L1, and the silly super cathode driven system applied to triodes. The 30L1 lacks two things important for sta

'Super cathode driven' applies to a tetrode where the screen is grounded and the grid is operated at 0 RF-V with respect to the cathode. Thus, there is never any grid current in a super cathode driv
