I see Svetlana are advertising their 812A for linear service. Doubtless someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but it doesn't look to me as being a particularly good choice of tube for GG service as a

With an amp factor of 29 it will certainly be a bit harder to drive. My old RCA manual lists a 270V peak grid voltage plus a bias requirement of -48V in Class B audio service. Not my choice of tubes
