There have been several messages lately about amps designed for amateur use being used on 11 meters. In my humble opinion, I think it will be hard to get the legitimate manufactures of amateur amps t

Along the same lines I believe any efforts regarding this is work done in vane. There is very small percentage of CB operators that actually buy directly from the HF linear manufactures or dealers. M

Thanks for posting these links Tom. I had no idea this idiots had taken this so far. This certainly raises a lot of issues: biological effects of high intensity EM radiation, illegality, interference

Excuse me gents, but you US guys seem to be obsessed with CB'ers running excessive power and how to prevent that! Focus on cleaning up the HAM bands instead and leave the enforcement of CB rules to t

Hi Tom, Only fools would enjoy having CB'ers as customers. They are the bottom of the foodchain, and that is a liability for the manufacturer. Even the "most technically astute" on CB seem to be tech

I feel quite differently about this. First of all CB'er/Freebanders frequently interfere with ham bands by either overdriving their amplifiers or having parasitic oscillations that drift up and down

Peter, Your impressions are somewhat mistaken. Not only do the CBers run excessive and illegal power, they do it by overdriving their gear and thus create spurious emissions on various frequencies, i

If you don't think Mikes comments are true, do a little Web search and look at the pages of pictures that the CB'ers put out. Did you ever see a HAM mobile rig that required 4 alternators in a Diesel

Peter, It doesn't stop there. First, it is against the law (FCC) to utilize commercially made amplifiers for out-of-band operation. Second, for every 1 sloppy CBer on 11 meters, it cost 5-10 hams res
