Phil, The Digikey catalog has been opened to that very page for three days now. I'm just waiting for a free moment to make up an order. Larry - W7IUV -- FAQ on WWW: http://www.contesting.com/ampsfaq.

Ah, the joys of modular amplifiers! It only took two minutes to jack in the "old" supply and check out all the RF and control stuff. All as it should be. Each component in the "new" supply was indivi

The white paint says "RT", any guess on that one? At the time of failure, the calculated safety factor was 44.5%. I guess that's a bit marginal. Still it should not have quit. I have the parts in a b

Can't claim practical experience, but I did run a Spice simulation. I assumed the primary R effect doubled the secondary Rs, and I assumed about 4.5kV dc (didn't keep a copy of your original post).

Steve, thanks for the Spice run. Very interesting. My actual output voltage at key down was 3100, key up (ZSAC) was about 3400. Using the graphs, I had estimated about 2.9 amps RMS current. But what

Are we reaching some agreement that my suspicion about peak currents being the problem was correct? I've always tended to assume (like, it seems many others) that a 3 amp diode is good for 3 amps. No
