Hi, I have an Astron RS-70M, 13.8 volt supply. It provides, per it's meter, about 45 amps to my small Henry Radio SS500 solid state linear when driving 200 watts from the amp into a dummy load (40 me

Hello, Jim.... Do you have distortion into the dummy load? You could have RF getting into the a.c. cord or the 13.8 volt pair from it to the amp. Does the Astron hold good regulation at high current?

Jim, What is the measured output voltage of the supply when you are drawing 60A keydown? If it is still up around 13.5 Volts, then your supply is fine and you probably have some sort of "rf into your

Hi Jim, Astron tends to rate their supplies VERY conservatively. The RS-70 could really put out nearly 70 amps continuous with no problem other than getting hot. I had an RS-35 and many times I peake

I believe ICS means Intermittent Commercial Service. What that implies I'll leave to the "lawyers" :) My guess is that the Astron will supply the full rated (70A) for several minutes, and then "expec
