- Does anyone have an opinion on the Penta Labs PL-175 tube in a QRO HF amplifier? Mid to Late '60's I believe. For a while Eimac copied it as the 8295 with full military pomp and circumstance. Metal/G

- I've been told the PL-175 is an equivalent to a 4-400A. I've got a pair from an old Viking-Johnson Invader. Probably going to use them in my next amp project which will be a 6m amp. 73, Jon KE9NA --

- Don't think so. I think you guys are thinking of the PL-172. The 175 is a small, 4-400 type tube. I have 2 of them and checked the number myself. The original poster admitted to me he got the number
