Sorry, I read my e-mails in the wrong sequence. I should stop doing that. Hi Hi but the pin orientation "2 and 6" in the vertical plane is the key issue!! ____________________________________________

Peter, While on the subject, you wouldn't know the approximate G1 input impedance would you? That is with the specified plate and grid voltages on the tube. Concerning the heater position, the only w

Carl, The 813 cathode impedance when run G-G with 2500 volts on the anode and at least 200 ma. anode current will be on the order of 270 ohms. If you push the tube hard it will be slightly lower. 73,

I may have an idea where the confusion comes from. RCA made two different 813's one with a graphite plate and the newer version with a metal plate. There may be other internal differences between the

Not only did Collins (amongst many others) run 813s in the horizontal position, there was even a Collins civil aircraft TX of the late 40s, early 50s which used an 813 at an angle of about 60 degrees

So as long as the filament is contained in the vertical plane, any tilt position of the tube is ok. At least for a fix (not mobile) use. Best regards Guillermo - LU8EYW. Peter Chadwick escribi&oacute

Its not that 250TH's etc dont work but they need a lot more drive due to the low mu, a hefty regulated bias supply voltage wise, and arent much beyond sweep tube for linearity. Ive been sitting on a
