Any failure that can't be explained as one absolute cause is ALWAYS a parasitic. Come to think of it EVERY failure must be from a parasitic, because the Chinese use crappy glass in 3-500's, and when

Dear OM`s: I have an old Dentron, and I need to buy two 8875. Can anybody help me with this? If not possible, a pair of GI7B is a good choice? Thank you in advance. LU5YF Jan ________________________

Go with the GI-7bT variant if you can obtain them instead of the regular GI-7b. You also might consider a single GS-31b.  That tube has a plate dissipation of 1000-watts instead of 700-watts which a

A single 3CX800A7 or the 3CPX version is an easier conversion since none of the extreme metal hacking for Russian tubes is needed; the socket and pin outs are identical. Plus the tube is much cleaner

Is $250. - $300. each still a typical price for good used? Or has Ham-flation (obsession with amps + tube hoarding) driven the used cost up considerably? David KD4E -- *David* KD4E ARES-EC Bulloch Co

That price seems to be holding but you DO have to look around a lot. I only look when I have to buy them. Carl -- Original Message -- From: <qrv@kd4e.com> To: "Carl" <km1h@jeremy.qozzy.com> Cc: "Glen

Doesn't the 8875 use a transverse air flow? If so, how do you get proper cooling with the 3CX-800 ? The electrical part is simple, but mechanically? 73 Roger (K8RI) On 3/19/2015 8:46 PM, Carl wrote:

Ive explained that several times. Since the MLA-2500 is PS limited there is no sense in using two 3CX800's where a single already gives an extra 200W of PD over a pair of 8875's. Mount a muffin fan o

I have a vague memory of seeing two different sorts of 8875, both from Eimac. One with copper anode fins, the other with some form of cast alloy. That could account for a weight difference if it appl
