I have an AL-811H, and I would like to know the maximum plate power, Ip, when tuning this radio. I am not using a pulser. The instructions mention a limit for the grid current, and then tell me to pe

811As *4 shouldn't pin the Ip meter. 640mA is typical operation max, 800mA is absolute max. -WB2WIK/6 I have an AL-811H, and I would like to know the maximum plate power, Ip, when tuning this radio.

Hi Jan, Hmmmm... Pinning the Plate Current meter... not good, probably you need to reduce drive. Tube specs, Plate Current, show 175ma per tube, or 700ma for 4 tubes. Sometimes on initial tuneup when

Jan, I strongly disagree with the advice you have been given. The short term current really doesn't matter at all. Setting or limiting the current to 700mA won't do a thing to help the tubes live un
