Hello, Still playing with my "new" Alpha 78. I had noticed that the fan was a bit loud for my taste, and thought I'd put a measurement on it. So I dug out my old Radio Shack sound meter and measured.

No experience with that amp, but some components of motor noise are vibrationally coupled to the desk or shelf that the amp sits on. I've reduce that component of the fan noise in my Titan 425 amps b

Thats a job for a TIG or a Henrob mini gas torch and lots of patience, that Alpha cover is thin. I use both when required and leave the MIG, arc and old gas stuff for other heavier/less critical work
