I wonder if it has to do with exciters which tend to produce power spikes at the beginning of CW characters or syllables. That would explain why some have the problem and some don't. -- 73 Vic, K2VCO

Is the antenna at DC ground? For example, the ICE protectors provide this. Of course, the amp probably has an RF choke across the output as is standard...mysterious. Maybe it's something that happens
