I have a 6-meter-converted SB-220 equipped with the upgraded Harbaugh cooling fan, which provides more air circulation volume than the original Heathkit fan. It does a great job, but sounds like a B-

New XYL would probably work. In lieu of that, maybe just slow down the fan that's there? Most blowers aren't that quiet unless they're really low-speed ones that cannot produce much air. Listen to th

Mine never did that.... having so said, take the old fan, drill some grease holes, and put it back in. Just watch it, however, to be sure it doesn't die mid-use. Dave N3DB ___________________________

That wont work with the Harbach high speed fan, its an air noise issue. A 200-300 Ohm 10W resistor will slow it down a bit and a toggle switch or relay can turn it into a 2 speed unit as done on the
