My footswitch is made by Heil (I believe). It has two separate leads for PTT keying: one for the rig and one for the amp. The amp is keyed first, then the rig, to avoid hot switching. Seems like a go

There are two cables. It does not matter about when you speak because the amp via the Red cable is keyed first before the rig that is keyed by the black cable with about 250 ms delay. It works well,
