- I assume in the mid 60's MOV's were not as common or not available. It would make sense to prevent it before amplification. I was thinking it was a circuit that balances the secondary windings. Thank

- MOV failure mode is a fire cracker and they have a limited life. I assume in the mid 60's MOV's were not as common or not available. It would make sense to prevent it before amplification. I was thin
