I think these caps widely use in static dust catcher/spray-paint, NOT for high RF current ! Well I had another Chinese cap blow up on me in my 8877 amplifier. I had 3ea 1000PF 12KV caps in parallel f

I bought 20 of those on eBay and just hipot tested them TODAY, assuming they're the same thing. They break down around 4000 to 5000 VDC, even with no RF current on them. No warning, no leakage curren

Jim,      Isn't Y5T that is listed a class II ceramic?  The NPO/N750/N1500 are all class I ceramics that won't age like the class II and IV do.  Also, with the lesser classes, when you look at the cu

You have a lot of circulating current through blocking caps on 10 m. For a critical application, I'd stick with a known manufacturer like HEC where you can see a range of specifications and test data

While new HEC prices are a bit ridiculous there is enough high quality used doorknobs around plus the Russian surplus RF caps are also excellent. I passed over those Chinese caps as a bad deal years

Indeed--a good example is these CRL doorknobs: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Door-Knob-Capacitor-75-pF-7500VDC-N750-kit-of-2-/22071330273 about 10 bucks each. I bought a pair and they are good caps. Unfort

Has anyone done RF testing on the big doorknobs used in laser power supplies? Many of the 20-40KV caps sold on eBay come from surplus laser gear and were not originally sold for RF use. It would be i
