I don't understand why you would want to use the peak reading function to tune an amplifier. The time delay before decay just makes tuning harder and doesn't really add any value. I also have an LP-1

I do some QSY'ing up and down the band going from this group to that one, and rather than switch off to the dummy load I'll sometimes tweak for the freq change on SSB or AM voice peaks as I transmit.

Another good one is the WaveNode WN-2. www.wavenode.com I have one in the shack, it shows fwd and reverse pwr, Is very accurate. also the software to have a display on the pc is nice to wow visitors
