what voltage zener should I us for the GS35B triode in GG, using 4000 volts HV under load to get close to 100 mills bias? I don't remember were I read it now? but I think 100 mils idling current is w

About 35V. There's a circuit on my site, at http://www.ifwtech.co.uk/g3sek/boards/triode/an5-1.0.pdf which is probably cheaper than a large zener and gives adjustable regulation. 100mA idling is a bi

Has any one used a LM (like a LM317t .. i have a bunch of them) regulator with a NPN pass transistor , rather than use a tl431 and a PNP pass transistor ... ?? Mike KC7NOA ___________________________

Sorry .. its for bias of a GS-35B ... the emitter of the NPN is sunk (grounded) during Tx ... i guess i would need to copy/paste a section of my amps schematic to help describe this problem/query. Mi

If you use a PNP transistor in the bias circuit, the collector can be bolted to the chassis for excellent heat sinking. Of coarse the rest of the circuit has to be designed for that configuration. I

thats right ... my amp does not have a PNP, only NPN trans good to 1200v@10A .... i want to replace the minum of parts ... You dont see an improvement ?? I was leaning towards a variable Bias with a
